Random Notes of NY
March 5th, 2010 10 comments
The last two days were a blur. The boys and I did our usual NY shopping, but we also managed to hit a few new spots we’ve never been before. Here are random notes of NY.
The decor in Smith & Butler is amazing.
Smith & Butler
225 Smith Street (Brooklyn, NY)
This is one of my favorite shop in Brooklyn. Not only do they carry the best brands out there, they also tailor suits and jackets for men. A true gentleman’s store.
Hollander & Lexer
358 Atlantic Avenue (Brooklyn, NY)
Named after an old manufacturer, Amoskeag offers vintage and in house clothing. Insipred by the original seamless Amosekeag maufacture bags, they created the seamless jeans. The owner was very helpful and extremely nice with us.
Amoskeag XX
96 Orchard Street
Kept myself busy while the boys were trying on clothes at Odin.
We ate at The yummiest Cuban restaurant ever! I recommend the BBQ corn.
Cafe Habana
17 Prince Street
Met with the lovely Jessica for some shopping in Soho.
Dropped by Self Edge to find Andrew 3sixteen working.
Had breakfast with Phil from Award Tour. One of the nicest guys. He made sure to give us one of his hats before saying goodbye.
On the last day, I convinced the boys to drive to Flatbush to pick up some hood chicken. I just can’t leave NY without having Flatbush’s fried chicken.
937 Utica Ave (Brooklyn, NY)

As always, Tommy Rebel gave me a bed to sleep on in his cozy Brooklyn basement. This time I brought little JK and Vincent with me. NY just never disappoints me no matter how long my stay is. Yummy food, lovely American friends, work, and the usual NY shopping kept my little feet busy for 3 days.
I was sick the whole time there. Made sure to bring Nin Jiom cough drops and syrup everywhere I went.
Spent my birthday under the Brookyln bridge stuffing my face at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria (19 Old Fulton Street Brooklyn, NY). Vincent’s treat.
We had to do a little bit of work while we were there. Headed over to 84 Orchard St. to meet up with Nico for a Staple Fall 2010 booking. Their Cut & Sew is now being manufactured in Japan at the same factory as Visvim and Neighborhood. Good move Jeff Staple.
I left the Staple Design office with some goodies. Thanks Nico.
