PeteStrumentals all night.

I lost my mother 3 years ago today. The relationship I had with her is completely irreplaceable. Even though she was gravely ill for 10 years before she passed, her work, accomplishments, and failures still influence me in so many ways. She was a fashion designer, which played a huge role in my upbring.  In the next few weeks I hope to work on a personal project documenting her valuable works and possessions that have become my treasures. It doesn’t get easier with time, but it gets easier to know I will always have her in my heart.

Visvim SS10 has dropped, and FIL stores are already selling out on some of their pieces (such as the Patrician Folk). The Selvedge Stole is just a little something from the spring collection that has been added to my extended list of wants. Made from cotton, rayon, and new to this season cashmere. The ivory in particular is what caught my attention. Who am I kidding? I’d cop all three.

The last time I saw Dan (Guns Up’s vocals) was back in my Goodfoot days. He was living in Montreal for a few months. Sometimes he would come by the shop to hang out on the stoop and keep Nick and I busy on slow days. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen Guns Up play in Montreal, so I’m pretty stoked for tomorrow’s show.  Dan don’t disappoint me and make the crowd go crazy!

Some Obey Spring 2010 jewelry samples given to me from the lovely sales rep Kat. I don’t really know what the story is behind Obey’s jewelry and who is their metalsmith but these two pieces are my favorite of the spring collection. I usual don’t wear a lot of jewelry. In fact, I put on the same pinkie ring and (Agatha Paris bicycle) necklace every day. However, recently I’ve found some sort of love for rings in either a bronze, brass, or antique silver just like the Obey ones bellow. Thanks to my new favorite blog Hands On With X, I’ve been introduced and fallen in love with this feather ring. After a trip to NYC in February, it will hopefully be mine.

PS I’m stoked that when I put effort in taking photos, they can come out pretty decent like the one above. Can’t wait to get a DSL!

I forgot to breathe when I got this one.

I’m pretty much the only person who comes in the office on Saturdays. I guess it shows how much work I need to catch up on every week. My office space is a mess because I share it with boys. Everytime I clean  it up, it ends up worse a few days later.

Maison Martin Margiela just released their first fragrance (untitled). Created by Daniela Andrier who has already worked with Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Prada on their scents. The bottle was designed in collaboration with Fabien Baron, who was influenced by 19th Century glass. Available at Colette in a exclusive preview January 25 and around the world in April.
